Wigs have come along way. With today's technology wigs are looking even more realistic everyday. Five types of wig caps will be covered in today's blog, providing you with a better understanding of the differences in construction.
- Hand-tied/hand knotted - each strand is hand-tied to the base allowing the hair to be combed in various directions. Ideal for a sensitive scalp and hair loss.
- Lace Front - crafted with a sheer lace along the hairline, temple to temple. Each strand is hand-tied along the lace front allowing the hair to be combed away from the face.
- Monofilament - each strand is hand-tied to a sheer base usually found at the crown where one can do a middle or side parts creating an illusion of natural hair growth. Some mono tops are doubled for extra comfort.
- Basic cap - most affordable option with traditional construction and open wefts allowing for better ventilation, comes pre-styled and can't be altered. Similar construction to the capeless cap.
- Capless - lighter weight with wefted rows constructed horizontally allowing ventilation. Wefts are dense with more space between them. Units come pre-styled with a suggested part, which can't be altered.
